Ralf Maier was invited to the public expert discussion of the Committee on Housing, Urban Development, Construction and Municipalities on Wednesday, June 26, 2024, 11:00 a.m., on the topic of “Sports facilities and urban development” in the Bundestag. In the expert discussion, Ralf Maier called for incentives to be created through funding programmes to modernize, renovate and plan sports and leisure facilities in line with climate protection requirements. He also spoke out in favor of creating more temporary outdoor sports parks in commercial and industrial areas. The coronavirus pandemic had shown that there is an increased need for multifunctional outdoor sports areas.
